Photo blog: ten shop fascias that time – and the retailers – forgot

I find this fascinating! I’ve also observed a similar phenomenon as high street retail contracts - when shops close and their signs come down, older ones are revealed underneath, betraying a previous incarnation as a branch of John Menzies, Fine Fare, Rumbelows or, as I spotted last week, 60-70s offie Peter Dominic. Retail archaeology!
